The Fear Of Loss When It Comes To Sales

December 14th, 2009 admin No comments

Have you ever been to a wedding and heard the priest or pastor say.. “Speak now or forever hold your peace…”? That is fear of loss! The preacher is instilling into his listeners the fear that if they don’t speak now they will lose the opportunity to speak on the subject FOREVER! That’s a VERY powerful concept. When we use fear of loss in a sales pitch we are trying to evoke those same emotions in our prospects, but not with those exact words.

Your prospects need to Fear that if they don’t buy NOW they will never see your offer again. They must be made to understand that their lack of action now will result in a devastating loss later.

We best create this feeling by describing an impending, life changing event like the end of a promotion, or the running out of material or a deadline if you will. Or better yet, the complication of their lives in some way that will cause them a loss of time or money.

Sales people tend to use phrases like:

“I only have two left!” “Don’t miss out.” “Take advantage of this promotion before it ends!”

Chances are they have a stockroom full of that item, but they are using fear of loss to get the prospects to buy now instead of putting it off till later. It doesn’t matter how many they still have. If your prospect BELIEVES that you are almost out and that the moment you walk away, your amazing product just walked away with you FOREVER!!

Home shopping channels use fear of loss by displaying a count down of the items remaining on the screen. Isn’t it funny how it’s 4:00 AM but those items appear to be flying out the door? Come on, really?? Soo many people are ordering in middle of the night? Many time’s you hear things like:

“The first 50 callers will receive a free gift!”

Again, your impulse is building through the fear that you will lose the gift by not calling immediately. The reality is that ALL orders come with the free gift. YES!!! It’s true. But regardless if you order immediately or crawl into bed and wake up in the afternoon to order, you’ll still get that free gift.

On an internet sales page there are many ways to portray Fear Of Loss. Some marketers even use it in the pre-headline with something like “DO NOT HIT YOUR BACK BUTTON UNTIL YOU READ THIS PAGE! You will never see this page again.” That statement uses fear of loss AND urgency to captivate the visitor and make them read the entire page.

Anyone Can Fly A Model Helicopter? The Electric RC Helicopter Evolution!

December 13th, 2009 admin No comments

RC Helicopters, one of mankind’s the most fascinating invention, grab people’s attention wherever they are flown. Not surprisingly, RC Helicopters earned its place as one of the most intriguing hobby to pursue. This fact probably came to be because of the addictive, gripping and exciting nature of this leisure pursuit. To add to that, the models themselves represent the finest modern day miniature technology can offer.

Not long ago, very few have ever had the pleasure of getting a taste of flying these amazing machines. For a simple reason – once upon a time they cost way too much to buy and way to expensive to maintain. Alas – many thought this hobby would be and forever remain amongst one of those exclusive to the rich. Also, some people did not like the smell of gasoline exhaust or the loud noise of the engine. Fear not! Those days are gone!

Most people can now very easily afford to fly RC helicopters thanks to the tremendous improve of batteries, motors, and general electronics in the past few years. These innovations result in a new field of RC – electric RC helicopters – which at the same time opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. These include flying helicopter indoors and right at your own backyard while at the same time causing absolutely no pollution and much less noise. Moreover, maintenance costs which used to scare most people now shrink down so low that it won’t hurt your wallet in any way.

Recent technologies also allow these new breed of RC to be built much smaller than their predecessors. This not only fulfills many people’s childhood dream of indoor flights, it also makes for easy transporting. Not that it has to be carried very far since it can be flown right at your house. The need for tedious maintenance greatly decreased as well. You can forget hauling around heavy flight box full of equipment. If any repairs became necessary, it can usually be carried out in full with nothing more than a screw driver. Often times repair can be made using bare hands.

Reliability of these electric machines improves greatly when compared to the gas versions because they use electrical motors instead of nitro engines. Electric motors come much cheaper, much less tedious, and much less dirty. Unlike gas engines, electric motor almost never cuts out like an engine does. This means no more stalled engine in mid air!

Don’t think for one second that electric flights won’t last long. Modern RC models use Lithium Polymer batteries. These types of batteries will allow electric flights to last as long as – or longer – than gas-powered flights. Moreover, when running out of gas, nitro helicopter engines will suddenly cut out. On the other hand, their electric brothers will slowly power down, providing ample time to safely land.

Beginners will find that it’s now much easier to get a hang of this hobby. Whereas nitro helicopters can easily draw buckets of sweat from learning pilots, these new electric ones prove much easier to master. No longer are six channels required to fly, now helicopter pilots can start learning at only 2, 3, and 4 channels. Some models even use two main rotors that turn in opposite directions, eliminating the need for a tail rotor. This means one less channel to worry about while learning. And what’s more, most of these beginner helicopters fly right of the box. No more spending weeks trying to assemble complicated kits.

On the other hand, for experienced pilots, high-end modessuch as Align’s T-Rex 450 and T-Rex 600 offers high performance 3D crafts that will excite even the most avid pilots.

Where once flying a small model helicopter around in your own home was once a far-fetched dream, electric RC helicopters has made that dream a very vivid and extremely enjoyable reality!

Overcoming Self-Sabotage and Fear: A 4 Step Process

“Self-sabotage is when we say we want something and then go about making sure it doesn’t happen.” - Alyce P. Cornyn-Selby

Underneath any unwanted self-sabotaging pattern of behavior is fear. These undesirable experiences can include career self-sabotage, any form of addiction, workaholic or shopaholic lifestyles, a series of bad relationships in your personal and professional life and constant financial struggles.

Repeating the past and making the same mistakes is repetition compulsion. You are repeating the past, making the same mistakes, and constantly complaining about the results and yet we keep doing it! Why do people keep repeating bad experiences over and over again? Because, even though unwanted, this perpetual state of circumstance has become the comfort zone. People cling to comfort zones because they are known, familiar, and therefore ’safe’. Moving beyond comfort zones into new territory, even if desired, is a scary prospect.

Repeating past experiences involves recreating the same dynamics that you experienced as a child. If your childhood was filled with conditioning that invalidated your authenticity as a creative spirit, then you may be more comfortable living with people who invalidate you as an artist as an adult. You may have been told repeatedly that you could never earn a living as an actor, painter, drummer in a band or novelist. You pick a partner who tells you to put aside your passion and go get a ‘real job’. This is repeating the past. If you spent your childhood as the good kid who didn’t cause trouble and always minded her manner, you may be inclined to make people happy and have become the perpetual obsequious people pleaser. Again, you’re repeating your past and making the same mistake.

Unwanted repeated patterns of behavior often involves getting into business relationships with people who take advantage of you, or accepting jobs that don’t offer a chance of promotion or professional development. Repeating the past is pursuing the same dead ends over and over again, or engaging in the same self-destructive behavior. It’s making the same mistakes. To stop repeating the past, you must first determine if you are repeating the past.

The place to begin is to discover what stops you from moving beyond a comfort zone that is clearly not working for you. What are you afraid of? What could happen if you change the way you show up in your world? What would it mean to live centered in the truth of who you are, authentically, and in integrity with your passions and dreams for your future?

“Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.” - Jim Morrison

Fear is a question. What are you afraid of and why? Your fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if you explore them. Fear often shows up in the form of the woefully misguided Inner Critic. Your Inner Critic works hard to keep you safe, keep you in that comfort zone. If you try to move beyond the comfort zone the Inner Critic will serve up fear and drama to pull you back to where it believes you will be safe.

The goal isn’t to get rid of this Inner Critic, this fear. The goal is to recognize it when it presents itself, examine it and master the fear so you can effectively transition into newer and better patterns of behavior. One way to tell that you are making choices and acting from a place of fear is when you are Finding Excuses And Reasons (F.E.A.R.) to do or not do something so that you can ultimately stay right where you are, hold yourself back.

Here are 4 steps to examine your self-sabotaging pattern of behavior.

1. State the pattern, the repeating unwanted experience.

Unwanted experiences can include unsupportive or even damaging personal and business relationships or performance anxiety of any kind including stage performances, auditions, interviews, networking, presenting your work to a person of authority and calling up your agent.

2. Examine the beliefs and thought processes that lead to the choices and actions that created the unwanted experience. Ask yourself, “What within me is creating this experience over and over again?”

Common fear based thoughts and beliefs include a fear of criticism or rejection that are stated in as an “I’m not ________ (talented, smart, young, pretty, experienced, etc.) enough”.

2. Test the validity of the underlying fear.

Is the fear true? Is it absolutely true? Can you identify any experience where you were, indeed - enough? Can you identify other people or other events that fly in the face of this belief? For example, if you are over 40 and you believe there are no roles for actors over 40 can to find any examples of actors over 40 who are working steadily in their craft? What specific circumstances trigger your fear? Is there a pattern? Can you think of an early experience of this fear? What happened?

3. What would your life be like if you didn’t cling onto your comfort zone? Who would you be, what would you have, what could you do if you didn’t have this fear running you?

Imagine and visualize yourself showing up in your life every day as that person. Try it on even if only as a costume at first. What choice would a person living that life make as the events of your day unfolds?

4. Check how you feel.

Your emotions are indicators of whether you’ve moved into or out of fear. Simply stated, you don’t feel good when you are functioning from a place of fear. You can experience that sick in the pit of your stomach feeling, physical symptoms such as sweaty palms or a desire to Fuggedabout Everything And Run (F.E.A.R.). From now on this feeling is a signal to you to stop and take a moment to deliberately and clearly make a newer and better choice; a choice that will result in a different action that will deliver a better outcome, a different experience that breaks the unwanted pattern of behavior from the past.

If you’re feeling good about yourself, your potential and the opportunities available to you then you are mastering your fear. You are headed in the direction of your dreams. You have moved beyond the old unwanted comfort zone into a new zone that supports your desires. If at some point you notice that you slipped back into that not so good feeling of fear just know that you are reacting to the voice of that frightened little Inner Critic who is still scared of this new way of being. Calm it down as you would a 4 year old and show this Inner Critic that you are still very safe even if you venture into newer and bigger experiences.

“Ultimately we know deeply that the other side of every fear is freedom.”- Marilyn Ferguson

Tips on Flying Remote Control Airplanes

December 12th, 2009 admin No comments

People who have never flown remote control airplanes before may be a bit hesitant to do so for fear of crashing their new toys. The following tips will help one become more confident when piloting remote control airplanes.

1. Never fly on a very windy day. Determine approximate wind speed by tying a ribbon to the end of the transmitter’s antenna. Hold the controller parallel to the ground. If the ribbon is parallel to the ground, it’s too windy. If the ribbon is less than 30 degrees, then it is okay to fly.

2. Determine wind direction by throwing some pieces of grass or light material into the air. Fly remote control airplanes into the wind for optimal performance.

3. If launching by hand, a friend can launch the plane for you so you can keep your hands on the controls at all times.

4. Practice flying in an oval-shaped pattern, keeping all turns in a single direction. When you’re comfortable with doing so, fly in the opposite direction, also in an oval pattern. When you’ve mastered both directions, you can try flying in a figure 8 pattern.

5. When landing remote control airplanes, first take note of the wind direction to land into the wind. Reduce power slowly, allowing the airplane to almost glide on its own. Cut the throttle when it is 5 feet from the ground.

6. Find and learn from an instructor or experienced flyer. You might also want to consider joining a flying club. Some even have a club trainer plane, so you can practice before buying your own airplane. Club members will also be able to give useful advice.

7. Fly in wide open spaces. Places with a lot of people, such as parks, are not ideal for beginners as you might hurt somebody.

8. Read your model’s manual. Usually, remote control airplane models vary in functions and technicalities.

9. Crashes are inevitable. Don’t beat yourself up if you can’t get it right the first few times. Just keep practicing to improve your flying skills.

Above all, have fun!

Flying Versus Driving

December 11th, 2009 admin No comments

There are many reasons why flying on an airplane beats driving any day of the week. For one thing, flying is significantly faster than driving and therefore, it takes less time to achieve. Additionally, in some instances (especially during times when gas prices are extremely high), flying makes more sense. The only downside to flying comes when you are deathly afraid of rocketing through the air at a high rate of speed. However, there is no need to be afraid to fly.
For many people (my boyfriend included), flying brings about all sorts of fears related to the unknown. For example, if you are one of those types of people who likes to have control over your transportation, then flying (or any form of mass transportation) may not be your thing. Flying also brings about other various psychological issues. For instance, you cannot really see where you are going when you are thousands of feet above the ground, flying through the sky. For this reason, people get nervous because they wind up thinking to themselves all sorts of things such as, “What if we collide with something else in the sky?” “What is separating us from the ground right now?”
If you think long and hard about it, you could probably work up enough anxiety over just about anything. Many people don’t realize it, but in a lot of cases, it is actually that much more dangerous to drive on a roadway with other vehicles than it is to fly; and this is due to the fact that when you are driving along a roadway, there is significantly more traffic surrounding you and coming in from all sorts of directions versus flying. Today, if you want to be able to relax and enjoy yourselves while traveling, then flying is most definitely the way to go about doing it; There aren’t as many planes in the air as there are cars on the roads!
Driving is dangerous. Not that long ago, my boyfriend and I were coming back from spending time with his parents. We left his parents’ house pretty late- around 1am or so. We were preparing to drive through an intersection and were the third car in line to go through the light when out of nowhere, the car opposite of us just decided to try to cut us off to make their turn or perhaps something else. However, for whatever reason as well as due to the fact that we were already in the intersection traveling straight while this other person was traveling south, we noticed (after our close encounter) that driver of the other vehicle was clearly intoxicated and or on some sort of drugs. On top of that, this person also had a small car jam packed with people, so I am sure that the extra bodies in the vehicle caused him to lose his concentration.
Again, if you have the time, opportunity and dollar sense, if you can, try to reserve a plane flight and save your car the hassle of driving around. You’ll be thankful in the end.

Flying With A Dog

December 9th, 2009 admin No comments

Dog owners who go on business trips or take vacations have to decide whether to board their dog in a kennel or take the dog with them. For many dog owners, leaving their animals behind is not an option; they want the animal to accompany them, even if it means flying with a dog.

The key element when flying with a dog on an airplane is to make plans and work out the specifics in advance of the flight. The following is a list of details to consider before flying with a dog:

Dog owners who follow the above guidelines will be well-prepared when they are flying with a dog. They will ensure the dog’s safety. In addition, the dog will be more at ease and less likely to experience fear or anxiety during an airline flight. Flying with a dog can be a great experience if precautions are taken to prepare ahead of time.

Take the Leap…and FLY!

December 9th, 2009 admin No comments

“The dream was always running ahead of me.  To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle. “       Anais Nin

What would you do if you were not afraid?  What risks would you take in your life?  What would it look like to take a leap in your life? Many of us spend most of our time creating what we think of as safety and security in our life—having a job that pays well, having a home, saving for the future, keeping our relationships the same etc.  Essentially establishing and maintaining the status quo.

Now there is nothing wrong with this except that many people tend to error on the side of not knowing when it is time to make a change—when it is time to take a leap. You see we are expansive Spirits who are here to grow, learn and express our full potential.  These signals that our Spirit wants to grow are very subtle and can be easily covered over by the voice of what we “should” be doing in our life.  When this happens it can lead to problems in our lives.

Here are some Signals that you may need to take a leap in your life:

1.  The biggest Signal is that you feel stuck and stagnant. Because we are meant to grow and expand when we stop this expansion we will feel the energy inside of us start to get “stuck”.

2. You tend to worry a lot. There is a lot of creative energy that wants to move within you and create—if you stop this energy from creating it has nowhere to go but into another activity like worry.  So stop worrying and start creating!

3. You are over focused on other people and their problems. Because you don’t have a compelling leap you are making in your life you have no focal point for your energy—so you can get easily distracted by other people’s problems.  If you find yourself repeatedly caught about in other people’s issues—it is a signal you need to take leap in your own life.

4. You feel depressed. There is passion and dreams within you that long to be felt and expressed.  If you put a lid on these—you hold this energy back and you will feel depressed.

5. You are jealous of other people and what they are doing in their own lives. This is another signal that you have untapped dreams inside of you.  Treat your jealousy as a gift, a signal that you have so much more inside of you that wants to be expressed— much more than you ever could imagine!

6. You have low energy. When you are not growing and expanding your energy starts to get dull and stagnate—which makes it even harder to start to make changes.  The key is to move out of your inertia to begin to make the changes that your Spirit is calling to make—and to keep moving forward.

7. You are easily irritated and frustrated. Your Spirit can get a little cranky if you are not heeding its call for you to move forward in your life.  You can blame it on your job, your mate, your kids, your relatives—but it all comes down to the core issue—you must listen to your Spirit and begin to express this beautiful energy or you will be very frustrated.

8. You feel hopeless. Your Spirit may be signaling that you need to Leap—but your conditioned self—your fears– block you from taking any action.  Just like a little kid who wants something so badly and the parents are ignoring these desires— and not doing anything about them—the child begins to feel hopeless.  The same dynamic operates inside of you.  Not listening to the voice of your Spirit over and over can lead to the same kind of hopeless resignation.  Instead listen to your Spirit and take action on these desires and you will feel your hope and excitement for the future begin to soar.

Learning to Fly—Flying Lessons

Lesson One: If you are confused what your Leap would be ask yourself “What is one thing that my Spirit has been quietly telling me to do for years—that I have been ignoring?” It could be something small—like “My Spirit has been telling me to exercise regularly for years”.  Take action on this information because there is a wisdom in your Spirit—it knows what step needs to happen first—and this step will lead to the next—and then to the next.  Before you know it these smaller steps will build a momentum that will lead you to even bigger leaps.

Lesson Two: Know that you will be uncomfortable as you take your Leaps and learn to Fly. Use this statement to help yourself “I am willing to be uncomfortable to make the changes I need to make.”  The more you acknowledge that uncomfortableness is just part of the process—not a signal that you need to stop—you will be able to continue to move forward.  The more you do this the more comfortable you will get with the uncomfortableness.

Lesson Three: Keep Your Eye on the Prize. As you take your Leap there will be things that may appear that seem like obstacles in your path.  Your job is to keep focused on where you are going and NOT to get sidetracked into over focusing on these obstacles.  When I work with clients and this happens—the more they stay on track with their vision of where they are going—the more easily these apparent obstacles just fall away.

Lesson Four: As You Leap You will begin to Adjust to a Higher, Lighter Vibration and your Body will shed dense energy so you Can Move Higher. This can manifest in getting physically sick for a brief time as your body adjusts and releases the dense energy you have been carrying.  After you get better you will feel better than you did before you got sick—you will have upleveled.  You can also release this denser energy through feeling emotions of sadness, fear and anxiety.  Again these emotions will quickly move through and you will feel lighter and more free after they pass through. Remember the lighter you are—the easier it is to fly!

Lesson Five:  You will feel VERY supported as you take action and Leap. Once you make the decision and leap you will feel amazing levels of support come to you from the Universe.  Clients of mine who had been sitting on the sidelines for years contemplating their leap are blown away with how supported they feel when they finally take action.  They say to me “If I knew it was going to feel this wonderful I would have made this change years ago!”  You will feel support from other people, circumstances will come together to support you in miraculous ways, doors will fly open, signals come that let you know you are on track.  You will meet people who are your “flying partners”—people on your path that are uniquely supporting you by giving you enthusiastic encouragement and also practical support and information.

Lesson Six: As you Leap and Begin to Fly you will Feel a Special Joy. You are meant to be flying—soaring in your life.  There is a special joy that is natural to our Spirits when we align with what we are meant to be doing in our life.  It is a joyful, fulfilling feeling that we are on track in our life—exactly where we are meant to be.  It is what everyone is longing for—and for good reason—this is the feeling that you are meant to be feeling each and every day.

So listen to the subtle—or not so subtle signals that you are meant to take a leap in your life.  Listen and leap—trusting that as you jump you will feel a sweet support and a cheering surrounding you –lifting you to fly even higher into the magnificent life that is meant especially for you!

I learned I could fly SOLO

December 7th, 2009 admin No comments

My greatest accomplishment in life-I learned I could fly SOLO!

In 1960, Providence, Rhode Island at age sixteen I was bored and very confused about life I decided to leave High School and discover the world.

Prior to this period in my life my existence encompassed mostly the local area of Providence known as Silver Lake where I lived. Our family didn’t traverse far from home plate and, our vision of the world was very small. But, I knew by listening to others, there really is a Santa Klaus, there really were larger and more beautiful places to be explored studied and appreciated. I wanted to travel, experience other places and cultures of the world. I joined the US Army, asked to go to Japan for a cultural change and was promptly sent to France. I got what I asked for-change!

Ultimately, this High School drop-out received his BSBA from Bryant College (A University today) in just three years rather than the customary four with a Management major and a minor in Economics going on to grad school at Providence College.

After numerous job trials, mostly failures, I found myself in the following situation:

In 1979 our country (USA) was in the midst of a recession (or depression depending on your point of view) and I in the midst of a divorce, a day into a brand new car and loan payments, no money in the bank, indebted up to you know what and, got fired from my last job.  This was the fourteenth job that I involuntarily left in twelve years or so, who’s counting.

The entrepreneurial lust rising up from within reached a crescendo so load it could not be ignored-so load it could be heard around the world. I had to find a place for myself, my skills, my education; a place where I would and could be appreciated; a place to explore and conquer; a place where I could grow and be proud. I discovered that place within myself.

It is I. This is my time, right now; this place is here within my flesh and bones to be ignored no longer. I have been searching and I have found me!

It did not happen all at once but, I came to appreciate my skills, creativity, keen understanding of others’ behavior and my ability to communicate with others. Sometimes not so eloquently but effective, as time went on I became more skilled in the art of creative communication not only using the spoken word but also in print. I became well oiled and crisp. I learned to be hard, not soft as some would have it yet, skillful and kind. I became an artful worrier reaching for the stars and riding them to where they would take me. I was learning and having fun in a business I didn’t like!

Yes, I was successful in a business I did not like, a business that allowed me to explore cultures of people beyond my own shores. The world became my teacher and I the student. What I have learned during those twenty-seven years is to trust myself! Not to disregard the wisdom of others but I learned and know what wisdom is!

Others like to protect those they hold dear to themselves, keeping them from getting hurt, perhaps. What I discovered is that others project their fears upon others in the guise of protection and out of ignorance. Well meaning people whose fears and ignorance dictate their lives as they ignorantly feel safe but, they hide those fears from themselves so as not to deal with them less they will need to change their lives.

And isn’t it the fear of change that governs most people’s decisions? Yet, they are the very ones to want something that is new or different. Isn’t NEW a CHANGE from something? Different? How does one explain the existence of that dichotomy? I am searching for the answer yet to find it.

I discovered the value of change; a very exciting and at times provoking and stimulating. Fear not change rather, we ought to fear NOT to change.

Think of where we are now in our lives, our world; the essentials that we have and the wonders that we possess. Think of the turn of the 20th. Century when in the midst of a major change; Horses and automobiles. Telegraph, telephones. Through the years, think of the NEW and what CHANGES were made to bring us the marvels we have today? If someone chose to protect us from change, where would we be? What would our lives be like? Yes, change is good, positive, stimulating and necessary for our wellbeing our creativity. A stimulus yet to explore.

Often I set an objective, discover the obstacles in my way and conquer those obstacles by studying processes and discovering the necessary tools to use to make it happen. I found that very easy. Change was and is stimulating, challenging and very rewarding.  I suppose one could say that I am a self sufficient worrier who loves to be challenged and stimulated; that I find obstacles a challenge not overpowering just simply a learning experience to conquer with success as the reward. Fear is what holds one back; discovery is what moves one forward!

I also have learned to allow myself to enjoy the small reward or successes rather than wait for the major success. The little success is here now to be appreciated and savored while we anticipate the bigger reward. We are teaching ourselves to enjoy each reward as if it were the big one. We deserve it and we have earned it no matter how small. If we learn to appreciate the small rewards we are teaching ourselves to accept the larger rewards. Without the good feelings to savor of the small rewards, how will we learn to appreciate and recognize our larger successes?

Essentially, insecurities give way to confidence as you allow yourself the pleasure of acceptance that you have accomplished something. No matter what others may think, you have accomplished something; they did not, you did! How empowering is that?

No one in this world can do what you do. That is neither conceit nor bragging nor is it a put- down to others. It is a simple fact! Others may and can do something as similar as you but, no one else is you! Are you Einstein?

As an entrepreneur one discovers the meaning of “it is very lonely at the top”. There is no one to make your decisions, no one to set things in motion, no one to call order. It is yours and yours alone. Learning to be the deciding factor and earn the praise you deserve comes from the knowledge learned to be yourself, trust yourself and, listening not to those who want to protect you from harm.

So, essentially what is my greatest accomplishment in life? That I alone will climb that mountain, that I alone will make my path to destiny, it is I alone who may falter, it is I alone who shall pick me up. I have learned to fly SOLO!

The people who released me from their employee so many years ago could not appreciate the opportunity they had before them. Yet, they did me a favor. We are a product of our environment. They are a product of my environment. They gave to me the opportunity for me to make a contribution to mankind, yet they do not know it. I thank them very much because, without the changes they made possible, I may have never realized or discovered the power of change!

Thank you all who have been and are a part of my learning and appreciation of mankind! Thank you all for allowing me to contribute to future generations!

Thank you for the opportunity so I could learn to fly SOLO and return a contribution to mankind!

Controlling A Panic Attack By Beating The Fear Of It

December 6th, 2009 admin No comments

A panic attack might be a very frightening experience because it will take you by surprise most of the times. All of a sudden, you feel hit by numerous symptoms like losing control, suffocating or feel like having a heart attack. The panic attack is an experience that may be very traumatizing and you can even feel that you are dying at the very moment it happens.

A panic attack might strike any person at any time and basically everywhere. There is no reason it will hit a person, even though the excessive level of stress might be one of the causes of it. More often than not, a panic attack occurs randomly.

On the other side, after experiencing a panic attack, your body will remain in a state of alert and there will be many chances to experience one more in a short period of time. If the panic attacks occur over and over again, you need to see a physician as soon as possible.

You cannot control the time and the frequency of a panic attack, but you can control the fear of experiencing one instead. Most of the people will attempt to escape the panic attack at the time they anticipate it. The first panic attack you have had leaves traces in your mind and you will be more likely to be frightened of the places that remember you of it.

For instance, if you have experienced your first panic attack during a plane flight, you will be likely to fear flying again simply because you associate the panic attack with the particular act of flying. If you experience a second attack on another flight, you will probably do not desire to fly anymore.

In this case, the panic attack is not the reason you do not want to fly, but the fear of the attack is the main culprit. The anxiety and the fear of experiencing a panic attack might be applied to any type of situation. It is a demonstrate matter that the panic attacks feed with your fears and anxiety and thus they are more likely to happen because of the level of stress you accumulate by fear.

The most efficient way of stopping the panic attacks is being aware of the fact that you will not get harmed during the attack. It is completely untrue that you can die during a panic attack and by beating this fear, you will be less likely to experience such a panic attack.

Take a look at the reviews on www.PanicAnxietyReviews.com – they are completely unbiased and are an overview of some of the better treatments and methods for panic and anxiety on the market at this time. I wish you all the best, and a long, happy, panic free life.

Are you an educated consumer of downloaded music or are you floundering in the overloaded waters of download sites and programs?

Everyone has heard about the legal rulings on downloading music and you may therefore be afraid to trust any site that tells you their music downloads are free and legal.

The fact is that the face of music downloading has changed dramatically since the judicial system has gotten involved in protecting the rights of artists, composers and distributors who were previously receiving NO royalties for the music that was shared by thousands of teenagers and adults.

But, if you know what you are doing, you can find music to download for free or for a very small fee.

If you are an audiophile and you really love to download music, you’ll want to join a program that allows you to download a large number of files, or even an unlimited number of files, so you can keep up with the latest musical trends.

It is best to avoid sites that do not GUARANTEE that their files are safe, or you could end up with more than music on your machine.

Some of these fly-by-night sites allow anyone to upload songs and you might get a virus or other bug on your computer that might corrupt your machine.

If you are downloading songs to an iPod or MP3 player, be sure that the site you choose supports your format and device.

You may have to download a small software program to support the transfer of music from the music download site you select.

Try to stick with sites that have been reviewed and approved by web music critics or publications. Sites like My Music Inc., Free Music Downloads, MP3 Download HQ, and All Cool Music have been extensively reviewed by CNET, CNN, Tucows, OnlineReviewBoard, and Web Reviews for features like customer service, technical support, virus free guarantees, frequency of upgrades and pricing, and speed of download time.

Sites like RhapsodyMusicService and iMusicShare offer per song or per month rates for downloads.

Even if the old standbys like Napster and Kazaa, who were responsible for the initial flap over the violation of artistic rights and royalties, are now legitimate pay as you go sites that offer a full library of downloads for a per song or subscription fee.

And companies like AOL, Apple (through its iTunes and iPod business) and Real.com (with their Real Rhapsody program) are now offering free or subscription downloads with millions of songs in each catalogue.

Big retailers like Amazon and Wal-Mart have joined the fray with their own version of downloadable music for ‘pay and play’.

Sites like GoingWare and SoundClick offer downloads of cutting edge bands and musicians who have yet to be signed to a label, so you’ll find plenty of the newest music there.

Try to avoid P2P (Peer to Peer) programs if you can, because they are designed to allow users to ‘share’ songs from one stored portfolio of music to another and if you are downloading a song from another person’s library, your computer is open to security breach and virus threats.

In general, you should watch out for: Ease of Use, Speed of Download and song SELECTION, SELECTION, SELECTION. You should also be careful to check out the search capacity and techniques on each of the sites you are considering.

Some sites make it nearly impossible to find the song you want, or they have 20 versions of the same song listed and you have to plow through all of them to find the one you want.

Even then, when you download it (and possibly PAY for that download) you may end up with the dance mix of a song that was not properly labeled on the site.

If you know other people who are downloading music and you are not sure of a site and whether you should sign up for their program, talk to some friends and find out what program they are using and which ones to avoid!
